A Boost is an add-on that pins your profile to the top of nearby feeds for a while during your Session. When someone nearby opens their feed, you are near the front instead of buried further down. It is a visibility lift, not a different kind of account, and it lasts for a set window rather than being always on.
How is a Boost different from a Pass?
They do two different jobs. A Pass unlocks the full nearby feed so you can Move on anyone in the room. A Boost works the other direction: it lifts how prominently you show up in other people's feeds. A Pass is about what you can see. A Boost is about how easily you get seen. Many people use them together on a busy night.
When should you use a Boost?
Use one when the room is full and you want to stand out:
- A packed bar or event where a lot of people are visible at once.
- A festival, concert, or big night out with heavy competition for attention.
- Any moment where being near the top of the feed meaningfully raises your odds of a Move coming your way.
On a quiet night, a Boost does less, because there are fewer feeds to rise to the top of. Save it for the crowd.
Does a Boost guarantee more Connects?
No. A Boost improves your visibility, which gives more people the chance to Move on you. It does not promise a Connect, because a Connect is always mutual, it only happens when two people Move on each other. A Boost puts you in front of more people. What happens next is still up to both of you.
